Operating Area Total Resource Planning

Operating Area Total Resource Planning

Okanagan

2016 – Present

Utilized LiDAR, Google Earth Imagery and spatial data from the BC Geographic Warehouse (BCGW), to develop operational level, multi pass, total chance harvest plans and road systems for several operating areas prior to development. Classified the entire active and passive landbase based on operability, merchantability and legislative constraints including the BCTS TOC FSP, which is consistent with both the KBHLPO and RHLPO, and the Okanagan – Shuswap Land and Resource Management Plan. Determined areas for immediate TSL development based on timber quality and volume, forest health, community watersheds, VQO’s (retention and partial retention areas), adjacency constraints, maintenance of snow intercept cover (SIC) for mule deer winter range and recreational pressures in order to achieve the client’s volume targets. Proposed cut blocks and associated roads were given UBI’s and entered into Cengea for client review and referral prior to development.
