Peachland Fuel Mitigation Treatment

Cabin completed 9 ha of fuel mitigation treatment (both manual and mechanical treatment types) within 2 separate treatment units in the District of Peachland adjacent to private residences within municipal park boundaries.

The primary goal of this project was to create a defensible and safe space for suppression efforts and reduce wildfire behaviour potential during a fire event. These objectives were completed by:

  • manual thinning
  • pruning
  • mechanical forwarding
  • debris management (chipping and hauling off-site)
