As part of the 2020 Operating Plan for BCTS Arrow, Cabin was responsible for identifying all impacted stakeholders on a block by block basis, contacting the relevant parties to obtain current contact lists, preparing referral letters and tracking stakeholder comments, preparing First Nations referral packages and creating advertising for the plan.
Forestry stakeholder referrals is the process of involving and seeking input from various stakeholders who may have an interest, expertise, or concerns related to forestry activities or land use decisions. These referrals are a crucial part of the decision-making process in forestry management, ensuring that the perspectives and interests of different stakeholders are considered and integrated into the planning and implementation of forestry projects.
The process involves relevant stakeholder identification, consultation and engagement, information sharing, communication channels, review, the integration of stakeholder input, and transparency and reporting.
Involving a diverse range of stakeholders through the referral process fosters collaborative decision-making, ensures transparency, and promotes sustainable forestry practices that align with social, environmental, and economic interests. It helps to establish a more inclusive and well-informed approach to forestry management, where the voices and perspectives of stakeholders are acknowledged and considered.
